Vacancy – Assistant Content Creator

The time has come for CHMQ to become more than just little old me! Job Title: Assistant Content Creator

Job Description:

The role will consist of gathering and creating both organic and sponsored content for the CheltenhamMaman site. The post holder will be expected to write blogs on topics relating to motherhood and edit posts written by others.

The post holder will be expected to approach businesses locally and nationally with a view to selling space for sponsored content.

The role will also involve creating social media posts for CheltenhamMaman and the Cheltenham MumBoss Club using primarily Instagram and Facebook.

The post holder will assist Kate (Chief Maman) with the facilitation of the Cheltenham MumBoss Club virtual Facebook group and the facilitation of face to face events and will support the owners of The MumBoss Club franchise in creating excellent content and recruiting new members.

The role will also include basic assistant duties to support Kate in the daily running of the business. These will include emails, diary management and basic administration for which training will be given.

Person Specification:

The successful candidate will live within a 20 mile radius of Cheltenham and have the following essential experience, skills and qualifications:

A minimum of 5 GCSEs to include Maths and English. Excellent typing, spelling and grammar. Great customer service and people skills. Great copywriting skills – this post would suit an existing blogger well. Good level of experience of using Instagram and Facebook. Skills in email, internet usage and online calendar usage.

The successful candidate might have the following desirable skills and qualifications:

Marketing experience. Experience in using a WordPress blog dashboard. SEO skills. Experience of using Facebook Ads. Book keeping experience.

Hours Per Week: Initially 15 per week to be worked over at least three days of the week. Exact hours are flexible and can be varied though the successful candidate would be expected to work for 5 hours on either a Tuesday or a Thursday to ensure we have some overlap. It is anticipated that if the role becomes permanent, in time, these hours may increase should the successful candidate be mutually interested in an increase.

Contract Type: Due to this being my first foray into employing with CheltenhamMaman the initial contact will be short term running for six months. This is purely so I can assess the financial impact of the role – I very much hope to make it permanent but need some time to test the waters. Review of the contract will take place no later than five months in.

Rate of Pay: £14 per hour

Additional Benefits: Optional Employer Pension with employer pension contributions at 5%. Pro rata annual equivalent of 4 weeks paid holidays (this will equate to 30 hours in the six moth contract period) and pro rata allocation of paid bank holiday leave. Statutory benefits will apply to sickness and maternity. The main benefit of this role is it’s flexibility. I understand better than most the challenges or working around other responsibilities and as long as work is completed on time and to a good standard and one weekly face to face catch up is achieved I’m happy to be as flexible as reasonably possible.

Place of Work: This role will be home based though travel to meetings, events and my home (all within the GL postcode) for a weekly catch up will be necessary. Mileage will be reimbursed at 45p per mile.
