On Friday night I was lucky enough to be invited along to the opening night of Mr Mulligan’s Lost World adventure golf centre, restaurant and bar in the ever improving Brewery Quarter of Cheltenham town centre.
Officially open to the public as from last Saturday the attraction is the perfect destination for families looking for some daytime fun or adults looking for a quirky spot to enjoy a few drinks on a date or night out with friends.
In the words of Mr Mulligan himself the Cheltenham offering is ‘a land where the jungle meets the deep blue sea, where historic ruins protect the shadows of terrifying monsters and Jurassic creatures and where 36 holes weave through perilous obstacles. Hidden treasures will be found amongst two mesmerising UV Rooms, and a centre piece that will grab everyone’s attention. I have decided to bring all of my mysterious memories to life through the art of food and drink where my superb bar and restaurant will be the perfect way to top of your day or evening.’
The opening party saw staff everywhere handing out beers and wine with sliders and fruit kebabs gliding around both of the two golf courses on trays. The course saw couples having a bit of serious competition alongside groups of friends just enjoying the game with a bit of cheating along the way to hurry along the players whose eyes didn’t seem to be focusing so well on the holes.
I took along the 15 year old Cheltenham Enfant who loved it and will I’m sure be heading back soon with his friends or challenging his Dad and brother to a game. Online booking offers a price of £23 for a family of four to play so it”s an affordable family destination to add to your armoury of rainy day activities.
Open until late with a bar offering a serious selection of cocktails and a restaurant this would also make a great venue for a fun work night out.
To summarise…. there is yet another reason why Cheltenham really is the perfect place to raise a family and to be a parent. Go see for yourself and let me know if you agree. You can find out more about the venue here.
