Mello Festival is the latest addition to the CMHQ summer activity list and I cannot wait until the weekend after next to give this one a try!
Just across the border in Hanley Castle in Worcestershire, Mello Festival takes place from 2pm on Friday the 24th May until Sunday 26th (weekend campers can stay until the Monday.)
It’s family friendly and under 12s go free which is a massive draw for those of us who want to try out a festival with the kids but aren’t really sure how we’ll get on.
Highlights on the music front are The Brand New Heavies, EMF, Craig Charles Funk and Soul, The Wonder Stuff and the one and only Goldie Looking Chain!
You’ll find plenty to keep the children busy with workshops on loads of things such as Kaos Circus skills, Drumlove, kites, archery and there will be face painting, chainsaw carving (!) a kids’s disco, karaoke and more.
And of course a festival wouldn’t be a festival without an amazing array of food and drink trucks and we’re really excited to visit somewhere new this year and suss out all that’s on offer – we’ll be there all weekend with friends and family!
Weekend camping tickets for adults are £70 and day tickets are £35. Remember that kids under 12 go free so this festival doesn’t need to break the bank! If you want to push the boat out you can book a glamping option alongside your camping ticket. Oh and the best thing about the camping at this festival is that you can park your car alongside your tent! So no lugging equipment and you have somewhere safe to keep your valuables!
I’m dusting off the festival jacket as we speak! To be in with a chance of winning tickets adult weekend camping tickets head over to my Instagram – competition closes on Saturday night so be sure to enter now.
Maybe see you there?
