INTRODUCING the latest addition to the CheltenhamMaman event calendar…. Maman Moon Meet.
There is a theory amongst astrologers that when the moon becomes full women experience heightened emotions and that our moods are more susceptible and vulnerable to excitement and anxiety. We’re not here to comment on such things but we will happily take advantage of any opportunity to help Mamans reconnect with themselves and take a little bit of time to just be.
CheltenhamMaman will be hosting intimate events around the full moon with an emphasis on health, wellbeing and relaxation.
NEXT MOON MEET…. Thursday the 5th October, 7pm
Come and join me for a relaxed evening with Una, Positive Psychology Practitioner from Mission Thrive. Pop along to the Willow Tree Cafe in Cheltenham to learn about the science and practice of self-compassion, a way of relating to ourselves. Positive Psychology research shows that regular practice of self-compassion can contribute to wellbeing.
“You can’t pour from an empty cup”
“Don’t be so hard on yourself”
“You put so much pressure on yourself”
“You can’t be everything to everyone”
As mums, how often do we hear or think these phrases? We are great at giving advice to friends but not so quick to take our own advice. In the words of Dr. Kristin Neff,
“Instead of mercilessly judging and criticizing yourself for various inadequacies or shortcomings, self-compassion means you are kind and understanding when confronted with personal failings – after all, who ever said you were supposed to be perfect?”
Join Una for a guided relaxation meditation, an interactive talk about the research findings and most importantly, some takeaway tactics that you can use in everyday life!
This one-off evening is priced at £20 and with only twelve tickets available you should book quickly to avoid disappointment.
