Gloucestershire Family Awards 2017 – The Family Awards 2017 presented by Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court and CheltenhamMaman

Gloucestershire Family Awards 2017 – The Family Awards 2017 presented by Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court and CheltenhamMaman

2017 has been a huge year for CheltenhamMaman and I am over the moon to announce that it will be ending with an event to top all events for the parents in Gloucestershire.

We’re teaming up with the incredible local charity that is Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice to hold a glitzy, black tie awards ceremony to celebrate the best businesses and individuals who strive to make life better, fuller and easier for the families in our beautiful county.

On the 17th November nominees and their friends and family as well as the general public will be invited to Stonehouse Court Hotel for a champagne reception, awards ceremony, three course meal and after party and the most exciting thing about it is that every penny of profit will go to Sue Ryder, a truly wonderful local charity that provide end of life care for Gloucestershire residents and support for their families.

Before we announce booking details of the event we need your help to decide who should be in with a chance of winning one of eight coveted awards at the Gloucestershire Family Awards 2017 presented by Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court and CheltenhamMaman

There are eight categories and you are all invited to nominate a business, sole trader or individual who you think is doing great things for mums, dads, children, grandparents and family units generally in Gloucestershire. We are looking for independent businesses, community champions and people who are slaving away on projects, events, classes or venues to make our lives better, fuller and easier.

You can nominate anyone you like between now and the 10th September. The only rules are no big business chains and all nominations must be mainly based in Gloucestershire.

On the 15th September nominees will be notified and the public will be invited to vote for them over the following two weeks with voting closing on the 1st October. The votes will be counted and the five nominees with the most votes in each category will be shortlisted for the award. At this stage ticketing will open for the award ceremony and the excitement will really begin!

The final winners will be chosen by a panel of specially selected local figure heads at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court the week before the awards ceremony. Awards will be announced at the black tie dinner on Friday the 17th November at Stonehouse Court Hotel. Winners will receive a trophy, certificate and a digital badge to add to their websites and the winner of the final category will also receive an overnight stay and dinner for two at Ellenborough Park.

So what are the categories and how do you get nominating?

1. Gloucestershire’s Most Family Friendly Employer.

Do you work for a local organisation big or small that just understands the importance of give and take on both sides? Do they recognise that to perform at work to the best of your ability you need some flexibility to get to sports day or medical appointments or to occasionally drive a piece of forgotten homework to school? We want to celebrate these organisations and need your help in finding out who they are.

This category has kindly been sponsored by Spirax Sarco Engineering PLC.

2. Gloucestershire’s Most Family Friendly Independent Retailer.

Have you ever been out shopping and had a nappy emergency or a child that had a meltdown and the shop keeper offered to help rather than giving you ‘that look.’ Let us know and we can make sure they are offered a huge pat on the back!

3. Gloucestershire’s Most Family Friendly Independent Eatery.

Do you have a child with specific dietary needs or just a really fussy eater? We want to know which pubs, cafes and restaurants you just love in the county – you know… the ones who let you switch mash for extra peas or who whizz up a special babycino just to keep the little one happy – tell us about them so we can give them a big clap.

This category has kindly been sponsored by Alanbrooke’s Accountants.

4. Gloucestershire’s Best Pregnancy Support Service

Pregnant or recently had a baby? Have you had some incredible antenatal classes? Been to a bespoke exercise class for Mums to be or maybe you’ve bought a Gloucestershire based product that has transformed your pregnancy. Nominate whichever business it was that made such a difference to you in those important nine months.

5. Gloucestershire’s Best Baby and/or Toddler Classes/Events

Knowing what activities to choose to do with your new baby or growing toddler can be a minefield. We want to know about the best of the bunch – if you’re raising pre school aged babies or children which classes have you most enjoyed?

6. Gloucestershire’s Best Mum Recovery Service

When you become a mum you can sometimes lose your confidence and nights and nights of no sleep and adjusting to life as a parent can really take it’s toll. This award is for the businesses or individuals out there who are doing their best to help mums get some time out for themselves and re discover their confidence and self esteem (for example through fitness, nutrition, listening services, coaching, style etc.)

This category has been kindly sponsored by Fiona Reece Public Relations.

7. Gloucestershire’s Most Family Focused Community Champion

Do you know of someone who is working tirelessly for the benefit of families and children in our county? Whether that be for their health, their wellbeing, or so that their views and needs are represented. We really want celebrate the achievements of these unsung heroes and welcome your nominations so that we can track them down.

This category has kindly been sponsored by Cheltenham Ladies’ College.

8. CheltenhamMaman’s Family Fairy GodMother/Father Award

The final award will be the winner of all winners and will be selected by CheltenhamMaman as the person or business who has done the most for the parenting community in 2017. The winner or business owner will receive an overnight dinner, bed and breakfast stay at Ellenborough Park.

This category and the awards overall have been very generously sponsored by Rendcomb College.

So Mums and Dads of Gloucestershire…. it’s time to get your nominations in.

Ts and Cs….. CheltenhamMaman and Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice reserve the right to withdraw any nomination for organisations that do not encompass the spirit of the awards without question or justification – they may not be local or they may not have been nominated in good faith or for the right reasons.
