In this interactive discussion experienced Mum and local parenting expert Kate Starkey will discuss the emotions and practical challenges you will likely experience during the Fourth Trimester. Together we will then brainstorm strategies and coping techniques for self care and ensuring you feel appropriately supported during this time.
Understanding Your Baby’s Sleep with Helen Underhill of My Baby Sleeps.
Whoever said that they ‘sleep like a baby’ clearly has never had one! The aim of this session is to help you to understand your baby’s sleep behaviour, tired signs and brain development; and to leave with tips and strategies to help to calm your baby ready for sleep in a gentle and supportive manner. In this session we will cover the science of infant sleep, which will help you to manage those 3am baby parties! We’ll also cover what to expect of a typical newborn, safe sleeping guidance, how to set a helpful environment for sleep, and give you gentle strategies that will help you to settle and calm your baby ready for sleep when they get overtired. You’ll come away with an in-depth understanding of your baby’s development, and a range of tools in your parent toolkit to support your baby’s sleep habits in those first few months.
